Terms of Service
The rules for using MiniXMart's campus marketplace — please read before you sign up.
Last updated: June 2026
1Who Can Use This
MiniXMart is a campus-only marketplace. To create an account you must be a current student at one of our supported colleges, and you must be old enough to enter a binding agreement under the law where you live. Accounts are personal — you may not create one on behalf of someone else, share your login, or buy/sell using a profile that isn't yours.
2Your Account & Verification
You can join three ways:
- College email: if your college's official domain is on file with us, signing up with that address verifies you instantly and unlocks buying and selling right away.
- Personal email + ID review: if it isn't, we verify your email with a one-time code, then ask for a photo of your college ID card, which a human reviewer checks (usually within a few hours). You can browse and buy while this is pending — selling unlocks once it's approved.
- Personal email only: you can also sign up with just a verified personal email, no ID required. This gets you a browse-and-buy account — selling requires completing ID review first.
You're responsible for keeping your password private and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
3Listings
When you list an item, you're promising that:
- you actually own or have the right to sell the item you're listing;
- the description, price, and photos are accurate and not misleading;
- the item is legal to sell and doesn't violate your college's own rules;
- you'll honor the listing if a buyer accepts it in good faith.
MiniXMart only hosts the listing and the chat between buyer and seller — every sale or exchange, including how and where payment happens, is a direct agreement between the two of you, arranged entirely outside the platform. We are not a party to that transaction, don't process or handle any payment, don't take a cut, and don't guarantee delivery, condition, or quality.
4Acceptable Use
Don't use MiniXMart to:
- list anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or prohibited by your college;
- harass, threaten, or send unsolicited content to other users in chat;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your college/identity;
- scrape, spam, or attempt to bypass rate limits, verification, or access controls;
- upload someone else's ID card, or a doctored/fake one, as your own.
We may remove content or restrict an account that violates these rules, with or without notice, depending on severity.
5No Warranty
MiniXMart is provided "as is." We don't promise the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we don't warrant the accuracy of any listing, the identity-verification outcome, or the conduct of any other user. Every ID review decision is made by a human reviewer.
6Limitation of Liability
MiniXMart is built and maintained by a solo student founder, not a company with a dispute-resolution team. All payment and exchange of items happens directly between users, entirely off-platform — MiniXMart is never involved in, and never has visibility into, how you pay for or receive an item. To the maximum extent the law allows, MiniXMart isn't liable for losses arising from a transaction between users, a misrepresented listing, a missed meetup, a payment made outside the platform, or any indirect or consequential damages connected to using the platform. Resolve transaction disputes directly with the other student involved; contact us only if the issue involves a violation of these Terms.
7Suspension & Account Removal
We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, fails verification, or is found to be fraudulent — including a rejected ID review where the photo doesn't match a genuine, legible college ID. You can also delete your own account at any time by contacting us; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
8Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as MiniXMart grows. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, let you know in-app. Continuing to use MiniXMart after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
